2023 is the first year the Retool Your School program has offered the Innovation Lounge Grant as part of The Home Depot’s overall $4 million investment in HBCUs. Over the next year, each school will receive funds to transform an existing space on campus for the benefit of their students to pursue their academic, artistic and entrepreneurial endeavors.

The HBCUs believe the updated spaces will increase student collaboration, morale and success. For example, Voorhees University hopes that their innovation lounge will improve their students’ educational experience by providing a workspace and atmosphere that mimics those found in modern tech and corporate workplaces because these spaces are proven to foster higher focus, creativity and performance.

The Home Depot looks forward to working with all ten grant winners to bring their Innovation Lounges to life.
